I’ve been quilting for nearly 25 years, though my love of sewing began when I was young. I’ve always been drawn to working with my hands. Creating has a way of calming both my mind and my energy. For years, I basted my own quilts and guided them through a small domestic Bernina circa 2006, and later through my larger Juki TL-18QVP. I thought upgrading to a more powerful machine with a larger throat space would make everything easier, and in some ways it did. But it also showed me the limits of what I could achieve on a domestic machine.
Eventually, I began sending my quilts out to longarm quilters. This allowed me to skip the time consuming basting process and achieve more dynamic, professional finishes than I could create on my own.
For years, I dreamed of learning how to use a longarm machine myself. I feel incredibly fortunate to now have the opportunity to own one and build a business helping others get their quilts off the floor, skip the basting, and finally see their projects come to life.
I have two amazing teenage boys and two energetic, loving Aussiedoodle pups who keep life interesting. When I am not in my studio, pattern testing, English paper piecing, or loading up your quilt, I am exploring the outdoors through running and cycling. “Active” might as well be my middle name.
Now I would love to hear your story!
